Creating and managing your BACS Profiles
BACS Profiles is a new feature that gives you more flexibility and control over how you manage your BACS payments within esenda.
To ensure a smooth transition:
- A default BACS Profile has been created for each existing bank account
- All profiles are set up to match your current configuration
You don’t need to take any action unless you want to customise your profiles.
What are BACS Profiles?
A BACS Profile groups together the rules and settings used when processing a BACS batch. Each profile has exactly one bank account associated with it.
When processing a batch, you will select a BACS Profile instead of choosing a bank account. Everything else in the BACS flow within esenda works exactly as before.
How do I create a BACS Profile?
To create a BACS Profile, you must be an Admin on your account. Once logged in, go to Settings > BACS Profiles to edit existing profiles and create new ones.
Each BACS Profile includes:
- The bank account to use when making a payment
- How it may be used (eg for Direct Debits, Payroll, etc)
- How many approvals are required (1-3) to submit batches to the bureau
- How dates taken from files are interpreted (ie which day in the BACS cycle is provided)
- A default credit reference for payments (used if no reference is supplied on an instruction)
Admins can also edit the display name of bank accounts directly, without needing to contact support.
